The First Euro-American Congress on the Gig Economy (I CEAGE) is an initiative of the Jean Monnet Module “Gig Economy in the European Union: Legal, Economic, Sociocultural, and Political Implications” (GE-EU-LESPI). It stems from the growing importance of the gig economy as a sector within the global digital economy and the need to examine its economic, legal, political, and sociocultural effects on national and supranational entities, specifically within the European Union. The project is also closely linked to the research and practical experience of the project team members, who have both academic and industry experience.

The GE-EU-LESPI project aims to promote teaching and research in the field of gig economy practices in the European Union, examining their economic, legal, political, and sociocultural implications, and exploring possible regulatory measures that could be adopted as best practices in other regions.

These are initiatives carried out by the Integrated University Center and funded by the European Union.
